I am interested in landscape as experienced, rather than seen.
To me, an environment is both sensory and elemental -
to be explored, walked around, driven through, splashed in,
peered over, balanced on, smelt, touched and heard.

The paintings are an attempt to better
understand my position as part of this environment.
They remain specific to the dynamic space of the South West;
the transient and exploratory, the solid and static.
